Overwinter: the process of waiting out the winter season. For some creatures that process might mean going dormant or hibernating, for us it means migrating to a warmer clime. (Well, semi warmer! We had some cold days and frigid nights. Thank goodness for heated water hoses!). However, we didn’t wait out the winter season, we experienced it with family!
I’m blessed to have seven (yes, 7) wonderful siblings. We might not always agree, who does! Nevertheless, I treasure the times we are together.
Here’s my highlights of overwintering in my beloved lowcountry of South Carolina.
Thanksgiving with Brother John and Fam
Holidays are a time for family and with life on the road we never know if we’ll be able to do that. Two years running now we have been blessed to spend Thanksgiving with my brother John and his family in Seale, Alabama. This year was even more special as I got to meet my nephew, Harris’ lovely wife and son.
Bro John’s friends, William and Cindy, have welcomed us to stay at their horse farm when we visit. It is the perfect serene setting in the fall!
Next best thing about family and food at Thanksgiving is FOOTBALL! Got to enjoy the tension of my Bama family as they watched Auburn almost whip their butts! Oh Darn! Then it was Clemson and the Gamecocks. Easy peasy win! LOL #lovemytigers
Life at Tom’s Cabin!
Life on Hickory Hill Road in Greeen Pond, SC is peaceful and quiet. John always seems to find projects, some more dangerous than others! LOL! And we do enjoy times around a fire!
Christmas with Sister Beth and Fam
I love making new traditions! Hopefully, this one will continue! Christmas Eve Oyster Roast at my niece’s house followed by Christmas dinner! Love time with my Family!!
Best Christmas Gifts Ever!
Matt and Mom’s Big Adventures!
What a wonderful gift to have my son home with us for Christmas. The weather turned out to be perfect and we were enjoyed several day trips together. The week flew by too fast.
Who is responsible for pointing the ax AT your head? lol
HaHa!! Didn’t even realize I had the ax backward until after the pic was taken. Laughed so hard I just had to add it to my post! 🙂
