Our Solitude

Happy Owners! We purchased our 2019 Grand Design Solitude 374TH in July 2018
(McClains in OKC)
From the door you enter into the kitchen.
Very spacious with 2 pantries, coffee bar, double sink, microwave/convection oven, and residential fridge.
Dining room. Seats 4, but we only brought 2 chairs! The grands eat outside! HAHA!
Up the steps to the back and you enter the “Master Suite”
Bath is roomy with lots of storage and my Beachy decor!
The Bed Room
Queen size bed with closets and cabinets on each side, lots of storage overhead, and another bank of closets and drawers to the right of the bed. Bed is high as it sits over the garage. Quite the climb some nights!! Jus sayin! 🙂
The Bar and Hutch with a view to the Upper LIving Room.
Lots more storage and a place for my decorations! 🙂
These are a few of my favorite things…Sunflowers, USA, Matt’s blue jay, candle made from my fav vino!
Beautiful roses from my sweet husband to celebrate our 6th year together! Perfect size for a “tiny” home!
The Living Room
Love seat folds out to a bed. But, naps nicely just the way it is!
John’s custom office.
made and installed the desk just before we left Doodah. Isn’t it perfectly awesome in every way! 🙂
(FYI…the wood foot railing to protect slide out wires will be stained to match.)
VIew from the upper living room to back. And of course our, most comfy, recliners complete with heated seats!
LIfe is Grand by Design! 🙂

I was doing some family research and came across your travel blog of March 2021 in Beaufort, S.C. I was interested in two of the homes you show in Beaufort. The Stairs to Nowhere and the Sam’s House. You mentioned your great grandfather Col. Tomas Talbird built that house. I don’t know how much research you have done on the Talbird family but I am in the process of trying to gather as much information as possible. My family has been in the possession of a letter written by Rev. Henry Talbird in 1888 that gives the Talbird history. If you have any other information, I would love to know about it.
Thank you for your time and thanks for your wonderful spirit of adventure.

Hi John! I would love to share family history with you. I suppose we must be cousins! 🙂 The pics and letters my father, Thomas Talbird Jenkins, Sr., gave me are in storage but I plan to pull them out this spring and bring them with me as my family would like to see them. Where’s your home base? Beaufort? Let’s use email to continue our chats. You can reach me at jan@dicken.org
